The $17 million Defenders Lodge is the product of a public-private partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation, a nonprofit formed in 2001 by the Pentagon Federal Credit Union to help members of the military who are struggling financially.
